CryoPen is a precise, non-invasive treatment that uses nitrous oxide gas to rapidly freeze unwanted superficial skin lesions. The gas is delivered through a fine, targeted tip at temperatures of up to -89°C, allowing the treatment to be concentrated precisely where it is needed while minimising impact on the surrounding healthy skin.
Unlike traditional cryotherapy, CryoPen does not require a large spray of liquid nitrogen. Its pinpoint accuracy makes it suitable for treating small, localised lesions — including areas where precision is particularly important.
Before treatment, the area is assessed to determine whether the lesion is suitable for CryoPen treatment. Only suitable, benign lesions should be treated. If there is any doubt about the nature of a lesion, you should be referred to an appropriate healthcare professional for assessment, or I offer a mole mapping service.
The CryoPen tip is positioned close to the lesion and the freezing process begins. The intense cold causes the water within the targeted cells to freeze, resulting in controlled cellular damage.
Treatment is generally very quick — often taking less than two minutes per lesion, depending on its size and type.
Following treatment, the area may become red, swollen or tender and a small blister or scab can develop. This is a normal part of the body’s healing response.
The treated tissue gradually dries and sheds, while healthy skin repairs underneath.
Clients are given simple aftercare instructions to help the area heal properly. The treated area should be kept clean and should not be picked, scratched or deliberately removed while it is healing.
Healing times vary depending on the lesion, its size and the individual.

The suitability of CryoPen depends on the type, size, depth and location of the lesion.

Healing usually takes 1–4 weeks. A small scab may form and naturally fall away within 7–10 days. Mild redness or stinging can happen temporarily after treatment.
Treatment is quick, taking less than 2 minutes.
The treatment is minimally invasive and virtually painless with no anaesthetic required.
